Characterful Accommodation in the Berkeley Vale

Pond Cottage has been the home of the Fussell family for over 30 years. Originally 19th-century farm buildings, it was sympathetically rebuilt and restored in 2023, retaining its rustic character while providing comfortable accommodation. Set within three acres of private gardens, Pond Cottage sits beside a natural pond framed by mature oaks, with an English country garden, wild meadows, and an old orchard for guests to enjoy.

The location is ideal for exploring local attractions such as Berkeley Castle, the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge, and the unusual Purton Ships Graveyard on the River Severn. Nestled in the foothills of the Cotswold Escarpment, it also provides easy access to the limestone villages and rolling countryside of the south Cotswolds, and the cities of Bath, Cheltenham, Gloucester, and Bristol.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pond Cottage. Nicky made us very welcome, the room was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. We will definitely visit again if and when we return to the same area.

Nicky is an exceptional host. The bedroom was extremely comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious and the garden is superb. Nicky’s knowledge of the local area is very helpful and her tips for eating out are spot on. We definitely hope to return. I never leave reviews but this b and b was so lovely I felt compelled to do so.
